"My wife purchased a short-term disability policy through this State Farm agency specifically because she was told by Agent Daniella that a normal pregnancy and maternity leave would be covered. Based on those representations, we paid for the policy expecting it to provide financial support during her unpaid leave from work.

Instead, we spent over three months dealing with constant delays, repeated requests for information, and even being sent the wrong forms. After all of that, we were ultimately told the claim would be denied because the pregnancy was considered normal and without complications.

Throughout the process, State Farm never proactively contacted me to let me know when documents were received or whether additional information was needed. Instead, I had to continuously call the claims department for updates, only to have my claim sit without any progress. After months of paying for this policy and repeatedly trying to move my claim forward, I was ultimately told it had been denied.

Because of these delays and the lack of communication, I was forced to return to work after only six weeks postpartum so I could continue supporting my family financially. While I did receive an apology, it does not undo the financial hardship, stress, and emotional burden this experience placed on my family during what should have been a special time with our newborn.

I expected the policy I had faithfully paid for to provide the support that was represented to me when I enrolled. Instead, I was left feeling unsupported throughout the entire claims process."
